Outfest Los Angeles

What: The world’s largest LGBTQ+ film festival returns for two weeks this summer. Take part in a slew of parties, screenings, and galas happening in varying locations around town. This year’s event brings dozens of screenings from outdoor to indoor and, of course, online!

Sunday Afternoon Concerts in the Dome

Where: Angeles National Forest

What: Enjoy jazz in the mountaintop dome of the Mount Wilson Observatory. This monthly hosted concert brings music one mile above L.A. for an enchanting afternoon of sound.

MLB All-Star Week

Where: Downtown Santa Monica

What: The MLB All-Star Game heads back to Dodger Stadium for the first time in four decades. Enjoy a weekend filled with activities in celebration of the upcoming week. There will be a baseball-themed carnival and yoga on the beach at the Santa Monica Pier, and more!

B-Boy Summit

Where: West Hollywood

What: DJ sets and dance battles! That is what you can find this weekend. The weekend summit will bring beats and moves to WeHo’s Plummer Park and DTLA’s Grand Park. There will also be workshops and panels for the WeHo.

OC Fair

Where: Costa Mesa

What: Fried food, carnival attractions, and the occasional rodeo or demolition derby, and you’ve got the OC Fair. This quaint fair which started in 1889, is a monthlong fest of fun you won’t want to miss.

Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival – “As You Like It”

What: CLU Kingsmen park invites you back to their much beloved Shakespeare Festival. The university will host The Kingsmen Shakespeare Company as they perform “As You Like It”. The final performance of one of the Bard’s most popular comedies concludes this weekend.

Two Schmucks at Broken Shaker

What: What is more summer than drinks on a rooftop with city views? Enjoy one of Barcelona’s best bars this weekend at the Freehand Hotel. On Sunday, July 10, Two Schmucks—also named as 11th best globally by the World’s 50 Best Bars—will pop up on the Downtown L.A. rooftop from 10pm to 2 am. It is walk-ins only.

Tiny Porch Concerts at Peter Strauss Ranch

What: In cooperation with the National Park Service, Tiny Porch Concerts presents its 2022 Summer Series at Peter Strauss Ranch, on a newly rebuilt stage. While admission is free, donations are encouraged to support the work of the Santa Monica Mountains Fund.

Street Food Cinema

You can never go wrong with SFC! This local favorite of outdoor movies screening events combines food trucks, music, and of course movies for a truly epic night. The screenings take place at different locations around town like Griffith Park. Likewise, this gives you the chance to explore other local neighborhoods in the process.

Parks After Dark

Presented by LA County, Parks After Dark brings cinema to over 34 local parks! From Kong vs. Godzilla to Onward and more, the screenings are of course family-friendly. In addition, Parks After Dark also includes arts and crafts activities and health resources. 

Rooftop Cinema Club

Who doesn’t love a film with a view? This is of course what you can expect at Rooftop Cinema Club. This outdoor movies screening series brings Hollywood cinema to Downtown LA and El Segundo. The genres vary but the ambiance is always guaranteed to be a good time.

Cinespia

What summer outdoor movies list would be complete without Cinespia? Located in the Hollywood Forever Cemetary event space, this film series is its own icon around town. Not all Cinespia screenings take place in the famed resting place of Hollywood legends but there are plenty of films to choose from for your Cinespia adventure.

Pleasant Valley Movies in the Park

For a delightful family-friendly evening, Pleasant Valley Movies in the Park brings cinema to Camarillo. On select Fridays from June through August you can watch free movies in the park, enjoy live music, and play family games. 

Electric Dusk Drive-In

It’s that time of the year when free live music comes swelling all over the city. Enjoy free shows on the weekends featuring a mix of local arts from ska to cumbia and EDM. The free live outdoor music is available from the months of June, July, August, and September! It’s going to be a fun-filled summer for everyone!

SaMo PRIDE

Watch out for free live outdoor music events on Third Street Promenade from June 17 to 19 including DJ sets, an outdoor market, and an episode of Mortified Podcast. There are events held every day from Monday to Sunday, and all of them are for free!

If you love live DJ spinning, join them every Saturday and Sunday from 2 pm to 5 pm at Center Plaza listening to your favorite beats while soaking up the Santa Monica sun.

Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance

What: Make your way to Beverly Hills for the 27th Annual Concours d’Elegance. This father’s Day tradition brings over 50 classic cars to view on Rodeo Drive. Juneteenth Community Marketplace

What: Don’t miss this family-friendly celebration in honor of Juneteenth. The Zawadi Cultural Collective and Black in the Valley will be hosting a Juneteenth Community Marketplace this Saturday. The event will include children’s activities, music, raffles, speakers, and Black small-business owners’ information and sales. Guests can bring their own picnic, blankets, and lawn chairs to enjoy the day at Woodley Park.

Concerts at Warner Park – Valley Cultural Foundation

Where: Warner Park, Woodland Hills 

What: The Valley Cultural Foundations summer season kicks off this Sunday with Terrell Edwards and Brittney Crush, with Balafo. As always, the event will open with new and up-and-coming artists and patrons can bring their own blanket or chair for seating. The series will run through August 28 with tickets starting at $15 for VIP seating.
