The Bravo star and Rodeo Realty Top Producer receives recognition for his philanthropic work.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif (May 9, 2019)-Mr. Flagg is at it again. Not with his vloggs (although they are worth the watch as a weekly treat), but as an impressive community member. A born and raised Angeleno, Josh Flagg has always made it a point to give back to his community. It should therefor come as no surprise that earlier in the year he was presented with the Ambassador Award by the Guardians of Los Angeles Jewish Home at their 80th celebration.

The mission of the Guardians is to provide financial support for seniors and needy members of the Jewish community served by the Los Angeles Jewish Home, through residential and community-based programs. The organization was founded in 1938 by a handful of volunteers.

Josh currently serves on the ‘Guardians’ executive board. Along with his contributions to the ‘Guardians’ Josh also sits on the Board of Governors for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Josh and his husband, Bobby Boyd, also a top-producing Rodeo Realty agent, founded The Josh Flagg and Bobby Boyd Family Foundation to continue support of many different causes especially locally in Los Angeles.

It is through their ongoing philanthropic endeavors and presence as LA residents and top-producing agents that their impact can be seen throughout and even beyond Los Angeles.
In Josh’s own words, “My grandparents and parents instilled in me at a very young age that giving back to the community is the most important thing you can do if you’re privileged enough to do that, not only financially, but privileged as a human being that you would want to help other people with your time.”

Jimmy Heckenberg’s $35 Million Sale featured in Variety

Stunning Beverly Hills Mega-Mansion sells for $35 Million

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (April 24, 2019)- Rodeo Realty’s Jimmy Heckenberg recently closed sale on a stunning Gala Asher designed $35 Million Beverly Hills Mansion. A meticulously designed abode, the massive sale has already gone on to receive press. The striking 14,279-square-foot manor is considered the largest Real Estate sale for the City of Beverly Hills in 2019.

Asher, an Israeli mega-mansion developer had built the home in conjunction with the abodes prior owners, Dallas-based eyewear entrepreneur Dr. Doug Barnes. Completed in 2014, the estate was initially listed for a whopping $55 million.

Prior to the Barneses breaking ground on the lavish estate, stood a modest ranch-style residence, home to the late Dinah Shore until her passing. Then in 2005, Jodie Foster acquired the property, calling it home for six years before selling to the Dr. Barnes in 2011 for $8.3 Million.

Aside from the past and present owners is the grandeur design of this luxury residence. As Variety describes “Any NBA star will feel comfortable under the 25-foot ceilings, and the dazzling 80-foot-long computerized waterfall will leave guests’ jaws a-hangin’.”

Lest we not forget to mention the 7-bedroom abodes’ 3,200 square foot master suite. If one is wondering how vast that is, the average Americans living quarters in total are half that size.

This should come as no surprise for those familiar with Gala Asher’s portfolio of work, having built luxury homes for the likes of Kris Jenner, Billionaire Tom Gores and more. While we are unable to disclose any information regarding the buyer that Rodeo Realty’s Jimmy Heckenberg helped in securing the home for, we can acknowledge this as a sale that is truly astounding.

10 Perfect Plants for your Home

With Spring in bloom, there is one thing you can expect… a lot of blogs about spring. But with all of that seasonal jargon comes some helpful house tips to give your abode a spring touch. Read below for a top 10 list of the hanging house plants for your home and have your neighbors green with envy on your eco-friendly decor.

English Ivy

Also known as common ivy, English ivy (Hedera helix) is a gorgeous, deep green, glossy plant. This classic plant is one of the best indoor plants for low light. Suspend a basket of English ivy from a ceiling and admire the elegant, cascading vines.

Burro’s Tail

Burro’s tail (Sedum morganianum) is one of the most unique plants around. Because it’s a succulent, burro’s tail is extremely low-maintenance and great for indoor spaces. This funky plant is often confined to small tabletop pots, but it truly thrives when its thick foliage can run wild from a hanging pot.

Spider Plant

Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is a classic houseplant that earned its name from its spindly leaves. As a low light indoor hanging plant, this beauty will feel at home in almost any space—just be sure it’s out of direct sunlight. Spider plant’s bright green foliage effortlessly enlivens any space.

Bird’s Nest Fern

Add some edge to your space with bird’s nest fern (Asplenium nidus). This hanging plant has gorgeous, curvy leaves that change shape depending on the amount of light exposure. Too much light will make the leaves crumple and turn them yellow, so keep out of direct sunlight.

Chenille Plant

Chenille plant (Acalypha hispida) makes an impression immediately. Fuzzy red flowers trail down from deep green foliage, earning the houseplant the nickname red-hot cat’s-tail. Take advantage of this plant’s vibrancy and hang it somewhere that needs a little color. Prune chenille plant to keep it healthy longer.

Maidenhair Fern

This indoor hanging plant has delicate foliage that trails down in graceful waves. Sometimes indoor environments are too dry for maidenhair fern (Adiantum), so be extra aware of your watering habits. Spritz this houseplant a few times a week to keep the humidity levels up. This is one of the best houseplants for living rooms because the wispy light green leaves will match most decor.

String of Pearls

String of pearls (Senecio rowleyanus) is one of the most distinct indoor plants with its plump, round ‘pearls’ that resemble peas. These beads are actually filled with water to help string of pearls survive periods of drought. The vibrant green color lights up a room and looks dramatic when spilling out of pots.

String of Hearts

We’re obsessed with this lovely indoor hanging plant that grows long and intricate foliage. String of hearts (Ceropegia woodii) has variegated green and silver leaves with hints of purple. The thin heart-shape leaves romantically dangle off fine vines. Suspend string of hearts as high as you can and let it grow!

Orchid

The unique shapes of orchids (Orchidaceae) make for dynamic indoor hanging plants. Their beautiful flowers will add a pop of color and sophistication to your home. Make sure to hang your orchids where they’ll get enough sunlight to thrive—ideally in front of a window. Try this hanging orchid planter for a modern take on an orchid display.

Air Plants

Air plants have quickly become an indoor gardener favorite as of recent, and it’s no secret why. These wispy plants require little maintenance and can be displayed in creative ways. Air plants work well as hanging plants in glass capsules, mounted on walls, or in macrame hanging plant holders. Every gardener should try air plants in their home.
