Highly Likely, located in Highland Park, boasts a cozy and stylish interior, but the real star is its captivating patio. This popular outdoor space, known for filling up quickly, includes an outdoor bar serving frozen daiquiris on weekends and a cocktail menu available at all other times. While the daytime menu mirrors that of the original West Adams restaurant, the evening offerings crafted by partner and chef Kat are entirely new and exciting. Appetizers tempt with delights like yuzu deviled eggs and chicken liver mousse, while Turner’s childhood memories inspire Midwest comforts such as fettuccine Alfredo, fried chicken schnitzel, and steak au poivre.

Los Angeles is currently experiencing a genuine red sauce renaissance, and Jemma Hollywood is positioned as one of its prominent contenders. Despite its placement amidst the bustling Walk of Fame, Jemma excels in terms of its cuisine, atmosphere, and central location. Chef Jackson Kalb’s Italian-American menu features timeless favorites like crispy calamari and rigatoni with vodka sauce, as well as delightful surprises such as a Chicago-style hot beef sandwich and even a barbecue chicken pizza. Be sure to leave space for the delectable cannoli and tiramisu desserts.

Ètra, an Italian eatery founded by Chef Evan Algorri, General Manager Andrew Lawson, and Real Estate Developer Tyler Stonebreaker, brings a personalized and refined approach to both its cuisine and service. The dishes served at Ètra are a reflection of Chef Algorri’s culinary upbringing. The initial menu comprises six pasta dishes, shareable protein options, and seasonal plates like seafood crudo and imported Italian burrata. General Manager Lawson curates a wine list with a focus on French and Italian varietals that emphasize minimal intervention winemaking techniques.
Westside & Beach Communities | Week of January 12
Si! Mon
Location: 60 North Venice Boulevard, Venice, California 90291
Celebrated chef José Olmedo Carles Rojas, known for his highly praised Lo Que Hay restaurant in Panama City, has opened his first U.S. restaurant in Venice. Named Si! Mon, the eatery offers a menu of shareable dishes featuring “elevated street food.” Standout items include Carles’s renowned yuca tostadas, fried chicken drumsticks, and Panamanian-style dumplings.
Sushi Note Omakase
Location: 421 North Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, California 90210
Tucked inside a Rodeo Drive parking garage, the newly opened Sushi Note Omakase offers an exquisite selection of nigiri for just under $200 per person. Mirroring its original Sherman Oaks venue, the restaurant also recommends wine pairings, starting at $150.
Amour
Location: 8715 Beverly Boulevard, West Hollywood, California 90048
The historic Dominick’s location, which served West Hollywood for 67 years and briefly transformed into a modern Mexican restaurant owned by Joe Jonas, has now reopened as “Amour,” a venture by nightlife impresario Thomas Fuks, known for revitalizing the former Dar Maghreb/Acabar in Hollywood. Amour exudes a seductive Parisian bistro ambiance, evident in its diverse settings, from the lush garden patio to the candlelit dining room adorned with intricate wallpaper, vintage sconces, and rich green accents. With a background at El Bullí, Chef Dany Bello-Chavez prepares Japanese-influenced French cuisine, featuring dishes like steak au poivre, chawanmushi, and exquisitely presented lobster ravioli, mirroring the restaurant’s stylish aesthetic.
San Fernando Valley | Week of January 12
Spina
Location: 3193 Glendale Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 90039
Spina, an Italian term with various meanings including thorn, plug, and draft beverage, introduces a rich array of pasta dishes by Chef Pablo Cruz to Atwater Village. Its opening menu boasts classics like cacio e pepe, ricotta-stuffed ravioli with butter and sage, and lobster linguine in tomato sauce. Complementing these are antipasti options such as meatballs in tomato sauce, fried calamari, and burrata with prosciutto. For heartier appetites, larger secondi offerings include grilled salmon, prime ribeye steak, and tomahawk pork chop. The carefully selected all-Italian wine list offers eight choices by the glass and an extensive selection by the bottle, along with a $12 spritz.

Asanebo is a must-visit dining destination in SFV, offering exceptional dishes crafted by the renowned sushi chef Tetsuya Nakao. You can’t go wrong with their lunch or dinner selection – we highly recommend indulging yourself in an unforgettable culinary experience: try the halibut yuzu and toro carpaccio for starters!

Experience the Parisian flair of Petit Trois and indulge in classic French cuisine right here in Sherman Oaks. Delight your taste buds with all-day options such as Brittany Wild Sole Meunière and Big Mec. The latter is a creative spin on the beloved American favorite. Conejo Valley | Week of January 12
Dong Ting Spring

Dong Ting Spring offers authentic Hunan cuisine to the area, serving as the second branch of Dong Ting Chun in Newbury Park. Although the extensive menu may seem overwhelming initially, it’s recommended to explore the Hunanese section that features dishes such as braised pork belly with preserved vegetables, lamb in golden soup, and the more daring mashed eggplant with century egg.
