Candytopia Coming to L.A. in December

If you’ve dreamed of the Candy Land game come to life, or visiting the candy-festooned gingerbread house from “Hansel and Gretel” (minus the cannibalistic wicked witch), then you’re in luck: Candytopia has hit Los Angeles! The exact date for the grand opening has not been announced just yet, but Candytopia promises to update everyone December 18.

The latest pop-up experience merging Instagramability with sugar consumption, Candytopia — in the vein of The Museum of Ice Cream or Happy Place —  promises immersion in a candy-coated wonderland.

Various rooms and installations replete with candy-inspired creations like marshmallow tsunamis and flying unicorn pigs will provide a bounty of selfie opportunities, while luscious edible surprises will be available for consumption.

Samples of sweetness, include in the ticket price, will be dispensed throughout the journey.

Rodeo Realty's Northridge agent Wendy Dern collecting candy for troops

For years, Rodeo Realty’s Northridge agent, Wendy Dern, has been coordinating a candy collection for an organization called “For The Troops”, a 100% volunteer non-profit group that sends “We Care” packages to our troops over seas, year round. Over 2000 packages are sent every month, and contain basic personal essentials, playing cards, magazines, letters from volunteers, and so much more. Every box is packed, then filled with candy, not just as a fun treat, but to insure there is no movement in the package.

In previous years, Wendy has collected about 1000 lbs. of candy. As they increase the number of packages sent every month, the amount of candy needed increases too. According to Wendy, this year they ran out of candy in April!  Therefore, this year she has set out to increase her collection goal to at least 2000 lbs. of candy!

Wendy will be collecting candy from October 18 – November 9.

If you would like to participate by donating candy, (leftover Halloween candy, candy purchased from post Halloween sales, excessive candy from your kids trick or treating, etc), please call, text, or email Wendy to make arrangements so that she can get your donation. Thanks for your support!!!

Rodeo Realty’s Pumpkin Patch was a great success! The annual event was held outside of the Pasific Palisades office October 15.

Residents stopped by between 12 – 3 p.m. and enjoyed free In-N-Out lunch and also received a free pumpkin! Parents and children also enjoyed cupcakes, cookies and candy!

Below are photos of the pumpkin patch event.
