Roaring Nights at the L.A. Zoo

What: Experience the zoo like never before at this special after-hours exploration series, returning for two nights featuring ’80s cover bands and a silent disco. Exclusively for guests 21 and over, you can explore the zoo at your leisure or gain insights from pop-up zookeeper talks and live animal encounters. World’s 50 Best Bars Showcase

What: The Roosevelt’s lobby bar will host weekend pop-ups from World’s 50 Best Bars honorees over the next few months. The lineup includes 1930 Cocktail Bar (Milan) in August, Carnaval (Lima) in September, Zapote Bar (Playa del Carmen) in October, and Baba au Rum (Athens) in November. Ticketholders can enjoy each bar’s signature drinks, including nonalcoholic options, and bar bites. Fans can watch the Cowboys in action starting with the first workout on Thursday, July 25th, through the final open practice on Wednesday, August 21st.

Bullocks Wilshire Open House

Apple Releases Developer Betas for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1

Apple has launched developer betas for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, introducing its first set of AI features. Highlights include an updated Siri that maintains context across requests, smart replies and email summaries in Mail, and natural language search in Photos. While some features will roll out later, requiring devices with Apple Silicon chips, users must join a waitlist to access the updates. Apple also released a second public beta for iOS 18, featuring RCS support, new CarPlay wallpapers, and dark mode widgets. Google Expands “School Time” Feature to More Devices

Google is expanding its “School Time” feature to select Android phones, tablets, and Samsung Galaxy Watches over the next year, allowing parents to limit their child’s device functionality during school hours. Sony to Develop New Headphones for NFL Coaches

Sony is partnering with the NFL to create new headphones for coaches, set to debut in the 2025 season. What: We already loved this year’s Hollywood Bowl lineup, but now there’s a new addition that has us excited: Barbie will be shown at the Bowl this summer with a live orchestra performing the score. On July 27, conductor Macy Schmidt will direct the Barbie Land Sinfonietta, an orchestra composed entirely of women, with a majority being women of color, to accompany the screening of Greta Gerwig’s film.

Uncorked Wine Festival

When: July 27 

Where: California Science Center

What: More than 100 wines, top wineries, food trucks, music, and a beautiful setting—sounds like an ideal Saturday. Uncorked Wine Fest is back, this time at the California Science Center, offering wine enthusiasts a chance to sample incredible varietals. General admission attendees can enjoy tastings from 8 to 11 pm, while VIP ticket holders get an extra hour, starting at 7 pm. Tip: To avoid traffic and crowds, arrive early, preferably after 3pm when the parking fee drops to $15 (or $10 if you wait until the show starts). This way, you can explore the exhibits, which remain open until 8pm on Saturdays, and avoid the dinner rush.

Poolside Cinema at the Fairmont Miramar
