Apple to Allow iPhone Repairs Using Second-Hand Parts
Apple has announced a significant update that, starting this fall, will enable iPhone owners to repair their devices with used, genuine parts while maintaining full functionality for “select” models. Traditionally, Apple’s parts pairing process required matching device and new part serial numbers, leading to notifications or functionality issues with non-verified or aftermarket parts. This new policy will eliminate such notifications for used parts, as the calibration will now occur on the device itself post-installation.
