Josh Flagg receives Ambassador Award

The Bravo star and Rodeo Realty Top Producer receives recognition for his philanthropic work.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif (May 9, 2019)-Mr. Flagg is at it again. Not with his vloggs (although they are worth the watch as a weekly treat), but as an impressive community member. A born and raised Angeleno, Josh Flagg has always made it a point to give back to his community. It should therefor come as no surprise that earlier in the year he was presented with the Ambassador Award by the Guardians of Los Angeles Jewish Home at their 80th celebration.

The mission of the Guardians is to provide financial support for seniors and needy members of the Jewish community served by the Los Angeles Jewish Home, through residential and community-based programs. The organization was founded in 1938 by a handful of volunteers.

The event, dubbed “1938: A Comedy Night for the Ages,” drew more than 650 attendees and raised over $630,000, said Jessi Cazary, manager of the Guardians.

Josh currently serves on the ‘Guardians’ executive board. Along with his contributions to the ‘Guardians’ Josh also sits on the Board of Governors for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Josh and his husband, Bobby Boyd, also a top-producing Rodeo Realty agent, founded The Josh Flagg and Bobby Boyd Family Foundation to continue support of many different causes especially locally in Los Angeles.

It is through their ongoing philanthropic endeavors and presence as LA residents and top-producing agents that their impact can be seen throughout and even beyond Los Angeles.

Ben Bacal Reps Myspace Co-Founder for New Weho Digs

MySpace Co-Founder Tom Anderson finds Weho Home with Rodeo Realty’s Ben Bacal as the Buying Agent.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif(April 26, 2019 )-We all know Tom from Myspace (well anyone born before the year 2000). Ben Bacal of Rodeo realty recently closed sale with Tom Anderson on his new West Hollywood abode. Mr. Anderson purchased the home from the Chainsmokers Drew Taggart last week and the deal has already garnered press attention.

The LA Times picked up the story and described the home as an “open-concept space, awash in shades of gray”. Those familiar with the Chainsmokers will know of the Grammy winner Drew Taggart and their hit singles like “Don’t Let me Down” which was number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

And those that grew up at the start of Social Media will know well of everyone’s friend Tom. The MySpace Co-Founder established the social networking site in 2003, serving as the company president after it was acquired by News Corp in 2005.

The home was purchased for $3.8 Million.

Jimmy Heckenberg’s $35 Million Sale featured in Variety

Stunning Beverly Hills Mega-Mansion sells for $35 Million

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (April 24, 2019)- Rodeo Realty’s Jimmy Heckenberg recently closed sale on a stunning Gala Asher designed $35 Million Beverly Hills Mansion. A meticulously designed abode, the massive sale has already gone on to receive press. The striking 14,279-square-foot manor is considered the largest Real Estate sale for the City of Beverly Hills in 2019.

Asher, an Israeli mega-mansion developer had built the home in conjunction with the abodes prior owners, Dallas-based eyewear entrepreneur Dr. Doug Barnes. Completed in 2014, the estate was initially listed for a whopping $55 million.

Prior to the Barneses breaking ground on the lavish estate, stood a modest ranch-style residence, home to the late Dinah Shore until her passing. Then in 2005, Jodie Foster acquired the property, calling it home for six years before selling to the Dr. Barnes in 2011 for $8.3 Million.

South Park creator repped by Oren Barkan nabs Adi Livyatan’s Brentwood listing

It has been an outstanding month for our agents! In what is a double feat for the company, as many outlets reported Rodeo Realty agents repped the seller and buyer for the $6.2 million purchase by South Park creator, Trey Parker.

Los Angeles Times was one of the first publications to report on the sale of the 4-bedroom and 4.5 bathroom estate.

The luxurious listing held by Adi Livyatan of Rodeo Realty Encino was picked up this month by Trey Parker.

Oren Barkan of Rodeo Realty Beverly Hills was the buying agent for Parker on his purchase of the Brentwood Estate.

Nadia Emelia list Alice Eve’s Hollywood Dell Home

Rodeo Realty’s Nadia Emelia has listed British Actress Alice Eve’s Hollywood Home.

The listing recently received coverage in Variety’s Real Estate column-Real Estalker which highlighted the homes stylish features. The 1,230 Square foot 1940’s bungalow is on the market for $1.5 million.

The publication describes the homes allure of privacy noting its “graveled driveway. It further notes it’s location “behind a thick privet hedge amid a jungle-like tumble of leafy trees and dense foliage.”

Brendan Barry sells Vintage 1930’s Spanish to Comedian Chris O’Dowd

Rodeo Realty’s Brendan Barry recently closed sale on a 100-year-old Spanish bungalow to comedian Chris O’Dowd.

The sale picked up media coverage in outlets like Variety and Architectural Digest. Both publications focused on the homes Old-Hollywood charm. Originally built in 1930, the two-story residence was on the market for the first time in 50 years. Located in the affluent Beverly Grove neighborhood of Los Angeles’ Mid City West, the home sold for nearly $2.15 million.

It boast almost 3,000 square feet of living space and features authentic details throughout. From its hand-forged wrought iron accents to a gently curved stone staircase that ascends unto the terra cotta tile foyer is golden era glamour.

The home also features natural light that floods in through the living rooms multi-colored stain glass window. While stunning accents like the antique crystal chandelier hanging in the homes formal dining room add a touch of elegance.

This is the second piece of U.S. real estate for U.K. Actor/Comedian Chris O’Dowd and his writer/TV Presenter wife Dawn O’Porter. Their first home on this side of the pond is a mere few blocks away from their new abode.

O’Dowd is most notable for his role in Bridesmaids and Sundance TV’s State of the Union. He will also be featured in the CBS All Access upcoming reboot of The Twilight Zone hosted by Oscar Winner Jordan Peele.

10 Perfect Plants for your Home

Burro’s tail (Sedum morganianum) is one of the most unique plants around. Because it’s a succulent, burro’s tail is extremely low-maintenance and great for indoor spaces. Spider Plant

Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is a classic houseplant that earned its name from its spindly leaves. String of pearls (Senecio rowleyanus) is one of the most distinct indoor plants with its plump, round ‘pearls’ that resemble peas. These beads are actually filled with water to help string of pearls survive periods of drought. The vibrant green color lights up a room and looks dramatic when spilling out of pots.

String of Hearts

We’re obsessed with this lovely indoor hanging plant that grows long and intricate foliage. String of hearts (Ceropegia woodii) has variegated green and silver leaves with hints of purple. Orchid

The unique shapes of orchids (Orchidaceae) make for dynamic indoor hanging plants. Their beautiful flowers will add a pop of color and sophistication to your home. Jessica Felix reps Queer Eye’s Karamo Brown for new Woodland Hills abode

Jessica Felix was the buying agent for TV Personality and culture expert Karamo Brown and his new Woodland Hills home.

 

The listing featured in last week’s LA Times Hot Property was recently purchased by Karamo for $1.24 Million. Described in the article as a “blank canvas”, the 1966 contemporary will likely receive an “infusion of style” from the TV Star.

The five bedroom and three-bathroom house was recently remodeled and provides 2,622 square feet of white-walled interiors. The living room includes a stunning concrete fireplace and the master suite features a walk-in closet and a barn style door that opens to a dual-sink bathroom.

The backyard provides another area of fresh flair, coming equipped with a swimming pool, spa, deck space and gazebo.
