Bloomsday 2019

The Hammer will honor James Joyce by hosting Bloomsday 2019. The event features a dramatic reading by veteran actors Síle Bermingham, James Gallo, James Lancaster, John Lee, Johnny O’Callaghan, and Sonya Macari. Guinness and live music by Rattle the Knee will keep the party going in the courtyard.

DAD: A Paternal Immersive Experience

Location: SJU Theatre Group, NoHo

Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group will take participants through the trials and tribulations of being a DAD raising a child. In this immersive-theater production the audience will interact with a wild cast of coming-of-age characters. The show is directed by Brandon Slezak and produced by Zombie Joe. Running Sundays and Mondays through July 1.

The Michelin Guide has returned to L.A.! After almost a decade long hiatus from the city of stars, the premier list of fine dining by the worlds leading cuisine connoisseurs was unveiled this month. While Los Angeles did not snag any 3-Star accolades, it did rank in 2 and 1-star ratings. For those not familiar with the Michelin Guide ranking system, the list, that originated in Europe is what fine dining establishments view as a career milestone. Even 1-star is considered winning an Oscar to well-established chefs. So treat yourself this week to what the Michelin Guide considers the best restaurants throughout L.A!

Father’s Day is nearly here! If you haven’t quite figured out where to take Dad, no fear!! We narrowed down and compiled together the best activities throughout town this Father’s Day so you don’t have to. From the outfields to classic cars down Rodeo Drive, there’s fun for all to enjoy! LA Dodgers vs. Chicago Cubs Father’s Day Game

When: June 16, 4:05 p.m.

Where: Dodger Stadium

The Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers are two of the most exciting teams in Major League Baseball, and it is always a pleasure when the two match up. Great pitching, some of the best sluggers in the game, and an energetic crowd: these are just a few things that make it so great when the Cubs and Dodgers go toe to toe. You can expect a great time at the park during Cubs vs. Dodgers games. All fathers in attendance for the nationally televised game this Sunday are encouraged to hang around the ballpark for a special Father’s Day catch on the field.

26th Annual Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance

Splash House

The event, taking place on the Honda Center grounds in Anaheim, is billed as the largest music festival yet staged in Orange Country.

KAABOO Del Mar

There’s a lot going on with this one. The venue is on sand, literally next to the water, but they also have a viewing area where you can watch the show while in a pool. The food programming, Palate, includes “culinary rock stars.” There is an on-site spa and beauty area offering hair styling, massages, and skin treatments. There are art galleries. There is a comedy stage full of A-listers. There are after-parties in a custom-built pop-up dance club. Oh, and we hear there’s some music.

Guadalupe Valley Wine, Food, and Music Festival

Life Is Beautiful

A big, bombastic festival, as only Las Vegas can deliver, Life Is Beautiful has risen quickly to become one of the region’s top pop fests. In addition to major musical artists, the experience includes a comedy stage, art exhibitions, and destination-worthy dining pop-ups. The “Ideas” stage is a unique offering, with TED Talk-inspired lectures from interesting folks like Jonathan Van Ness and the Pod Save America hosts.

Ohana Festival

September 27-29, 2019
Dana Point, CA

This weekender is ostensibly curated by buddies Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam) and Kelly Slater (of professional surfing fame). Unlike the blacktop or trampled grass of most festivals grounds, Ohana takes place literally steps from the ocean and sand of Doheny State Beach. Historically a go-to for singer-songwriters and mellow vibes, the 2019 lineup is a bit more rock-forward.
