Dance DTLA

When: June 20 – August 1 

Where: The Music Center | Downtown LA

What: The Music Center’s free summer dance series returns with themed nights like salsa, Bollywood, cumbia, and disco—complete with live DJs and free dance lessons for all skill levels. While normally held outdoors at Jerry Moss Plaza, the first event will take place at the Walt Disney Concert Hall’s BP Hall and Blue Ribbon Garden due to nearby protests. Come ready to move and celebrate the rhythms of summer!

Elvis Costello

Where: Fairfax District 

What: Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Elvis Costello hits the stage with his longtime band, the Imposters, for a genre-hopping set that proves why he’s one of music’s most versatile songwriters. Expect punchy classics, fresh cuts, and plenty of surprises drawn from his soul, punk, folk, and pop catalog.

LA Opera Costume Shop Sale

When: June 13  

Where: DTLA 

What: For the first time in a decade, LA Opera is opening its costume vault to the public with a sale at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Shop exquisitely detailed period gowns, suits of armor, masks, jewelry, and more from productions like The Tales of Hoffmann, La Traviata, and Salome. Pay for early access on Friday, or browse for free on Saturday.

Outdoor Movies at the Skirball

Where: The Skirball Cultural Center

What: Settle in under the stars at the Skirball Cultural Center’s courtyard for a special outdoor screening series. In connection with its Jack Kirby exhibition, the museum will show Black Panther and Captain America: The First Avenger.

Venice Summer Fest

When: June 21 

Where: Venice

What: Browse 300-plus local brands and artists at the free, pet-friendly Mar Vista Art & Music Festival, which turns Venice Boulevard (between Centinela and Inglewood) into an open-air market three times a year. The summer edition starts with a complimentary morning yoga session, then rolls into a day of live music, art installations, food trucks, and shopping. Upgrade to the ticketed beer garden for an open bar, games, and cabanas—part of the proceeds benefit Nourish LA.

SaMo Pride

Where: Santa Monica

What: Santa Monica decks out the Third Street Promenade in rainbow lights for its annual city-wide Pride celebration. On June 21, enjoy a street party with music, games, drinks, and giveaways (2–7 p.m.), plus drag bingo at Main Street Beer Garden (3–6 p.m.). The Santa Monica Pier hosts family drag story time and face painting at 10 a.m., followed by open beach volleyball and mini tournaments in kickball, dodgeball, soccer, football, tennis, and cornhole from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

San Fernando Valley Weekend Events | June 20 – June 22 

Garagiste Wine Festival: 10th Annual Urban Exposure

Where: Glendale Civic Auditorium | 1401 North Verdugo Road 

What: Discover over 150 small-batch wines from 40+ micro-wineries at the Garagiste Wine Festival on Saturday, June 2, at Glendale Civic Auditorium. Conejo Valley Weekend Events | June 20 – June 22 

Conejo Valley Days

When: June 19–22 and June 25–29

Where: Janss Road at the 23 Freeway

What: Conejo Valley Days returns June 19–22 and June 25–29 at Conejo Creek Park South (Janss Road at the 23 Freeway), featuring carnival rides, midway games, live entertainment, vendors, and classic fair food. Admission is $10 (cash only) for ages 10 and up, $5 for ages 5–9, free for children under 5 and active military; ride tickets can be purchased online in advance or on site, and limited parking is $5. Venue hours are Wednesday–Thursday 5–10 pm, Friday 5–11 pm, Saturday 1–11 pm, and Sunday 1–9 pm.

Summer Season at Theatricum Botanicum

Where: Topanga 

What: For over 50 years, this open-air amphitheater in Topanga Canyon has enchanted audiences with its intimate, nature-filled setting and diverse productions. This season, themed “A Season of Resilience,” features Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a Malibu-inspired take on The Seagull, and Strife by Nobel laureate John Galsworthy. Thousand Oaks Pop-Up Arts & Music Fest
