The Little Literary Fair

What: Calling all literary enthusiasts! Don’t miss this weekend’s free literary fair of indie booksellers and creators in DTLA. LITLIT will take place at Hauser & Wirth and give attendees the chance to interact with over 40 publishers. 

Dog Adoption Event at Dodger Stadium

When: July 30

Where: Dodger Stadium | Los Angeles

What: If you are looking for a furry friend, then this weekend’s Dog Adoption event at Dodger Stadium is your destination.  L.A. Animal Services will have more than 100 adorable dogs available at its center field plaza this Saturday. Fees to adopt are $51 for dogs and $75 for puppies (excluding licensing fees), and only cash or check will be accepted.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Where: Inglewood 

What: It’s time for some “Californication” courtesy of the one and only Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Enjoy the funk rock group that weekend at SoFi Stadium. The band will be playing a homecoming show with support from two other local bands.

US Open of Surfing

What: The US Open of Surfing rides the waves into Huntington Beach this weekend for a week-long competition. Bringing together the world’s elite surfers, thousands of competitors will face off for the big prize. The event will also feature live bands, a sports expo, and after-parties.

The annual event returns for the first time since 2019 for a lineup of delightful free Saturday night concerts. Cutwater Classic: Pickleball Tourney

Street Food Cinema

You can never go wrong with SFC! This local favorite of outdoor movies screening events combines food trucks, music, and of course movies for a truly epic night. The screenings take place at different locations around town like Griffith Park. Likewise, this gives you the chance to explore other local neighborhoods in the process.

Parks After Dark

Presented by LA County, Parks After Dark brings cinema to over 34 local parks! From Kong vs. Godzilla to Onward and more, the screenings are of course family-friendly. In addition, Parks After Dark also includes arts and crafts activities and health resources. 

Rooftop Cinema Club

Who doesn’t love a film with a view? This is of course what you can expect at Rooftop Cinema Club. This outdoor movies screening series brings Hollywood cinema to Downtown LA and El Segundo. The genres vary but the ambiance is always guaranteed to be a good time.

Cinespia

What summer outdoor movies list would be complete without Cinespia? Located in the Hollywood Forever Cemetary event space, this film series is its own icon around town. Not all Cinespia screenings take place in the famed resting place of Hollywood legends but there are plenty of films to choose from for your Cinespia adventure.

Pleasant Valley Movies in the Park

For a delightful family-friendly evening, Pleasant Valley Movies in the Park brings cinema to Camarillo. On select Fridays from June through August you can watch free movies in the park, enjoy live music, and play family games.

Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles

It’s that time of the year when free live music comes swelling all over the city. Enjoy free shows on the weekends featuring a mix of local arts from ska to cumbia and EDM. The free live outdoor music is available from the months of June, July, August, and September! It’s going to be a fun-filled summer for everyone!

SaMo PRIDE

Watch out for free live outdoor music events on Third Street Promenade from June 17 to 19 including DJ sets, an outdoor market, and an episode of Mortified Podcast. There are events held every day from Monday to Sunday, and all of them are for free!

If you love live DJ spinning, join them every Saturday and Sunday from 2 pm to 5 pm at Center Plaza listening to your favorite beats while soaking up the Santa Monica sun.

In addition, apart from the live music, everyone is invited to see family-friendly displays and activities at Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica Place, and Downtown Santa Monica in collaboration with over 15 LGBTQIA+ artisans and makers. In celebration of Juneteenth, for the first time in the Bowl’s history an all-Black orchestra, the Re-Collective Orchestra will hit the stage. The annual event returns for the first time since 2019 for a lineup of delightful free Saturday night concerts. Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance

What: Make your way to Beverly Hills for the 27th Annual Concours d’Elegance. This father’s Day tradition brings over 50 classic cars to view on Rodeo Drive. The event will kick off at 9:30 am with a rally of 50 of the “world’s finest, fastest and most unique automobiles”. Admission to the event is free and open to the public. In addition, this year’s Concours d’Elegance will showcase Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Juneteenth Community Marketplace

What: Don’t miss this family-friendly celebration in honor of Juneteenth. The Zawadi Cultural Collective and Black in the Valley will be hosting a Juneteenth Community Marketplace this Saturday. The event will include children’s activities, music, raffles, speakers, and Black small-business owners’ information and sales. Guests can bring their own picnic, blankets, and lawn chairs to enjoy the day at Woodley Park.

Concerts at Warner Park – Valley Cultural Foundation

What: The Valley Cultural Foundations summer season kicks off this Sunday with Terrell Edwards and Brittney Crush, with Balafo.
