Sunday Afternoon Concerts in the Dome

Where: Mount Wilson Observatory

These monthly concerts are held within the dome of the historic 100-inch Hooker telescope, a structure that held the title of the world’s largest telescope for a significant portion of the 20th century.

A Future Primitive Affair: L.A. Summer Series

Where: Chinatown
What: Future Primitive, a local event producer, has curated an impressive lineup of house and techno acts for a series of electrifying shows across Downtown L.A. this summer. Don’t miss DJ Guy Gerber’s Rumors block party in Chinatown (May 6), DJ Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream at Pershing Square (May 20), DJ Jamie Jones’ two-day Paradise in the Park extravaganza in DTLA (June 3-4), and the exciting debut of Astra Club (July 15), a collaboration between DJ Tennis and Carlita in Chinatown.

L.A. Opera Under the Stars

Where: Santa Monica Pier
What: Looking for an affordable way to enjoy Verdi’s Otello? Use your library card for a discount and experience this opera on a large outdoor screen at Santa Monica Pier or Cal State University Dominguez Hills, complete with pre-performance arts and crafts activities, food trucks, and even a beer garden at the Santa Monica location.
Blacklist: The Hollywood Red Scare

Where: Skirball Cultural Center
What: Today’s claims of censorship may seem dramatic, but years ago, the government truly enforced blacklisting in the entertainment industry due to perceived beliefs. This Skirball exhibit examines the 1947 House Un-American Activities Committee hearings, Hollywood’s response, and the blacklist’s impact, particularly on Jewish creatives and executives
Dine LA

What: Returning for its third year, the spring edition of Dine LA is making a splash from April 28 to May 12. With over 300 participating restaurants offering special prix fixe lunch and dinner menus ranging from $15 to $65+, indulge in a variety of delectable meal deals.

Grand Views: The Immersive World of Panoramas
When: Glendale
Where: May 13 until September 10
What: Experience the enchanting union of L.A.’s unique Velaslavasay Panorama and Glendale’s Forest Lawn Museum, as they present an exhibition of striking large-scale paintings. This immersive display is categorized into three sections: the early history of panoramas, crucifixion panoramas, and panoramas representing Hollywood and Los Angeles.

What: As part of Harley Davidson’s National Test Ride Days, they are offering free tacos for all who visit its dealership on Saturday. If you take one of our bikes out on a test ride, a 120th anniversary T-shirt will be mailed to you in the near future. H-D will also be sponsoring another national sweepstake for a chance to win a 2023 Road Glide.

Tiny Porch Concerts

Where: Peter Strauss Ranch | Agoura Hills
What: Don’t miss the chance to enjoy a live concert featuring Shane Alexander and Water Tower. These concerts are free, welcome all ages, and are open to everyone. While entry is gratis, a suggested donation of $20 greatly aids the Santa Monica Mountains Fund’s endeavors. Exclusive VIP tickets are also available for $60, offering a beer, wine, and cheese reception an hour before the concert, along with a reserved chair in the theater.
