Movie Night at Dodger Stadium

Where: Dodger Stadium

What: Experience a movie night unlike any other with a special outdoor screening of The Sandlot on the outfield grass at Dodger Stadium. L.A. RiverFest

What: Celebrate the creativity and natural beauty of the Los Angeles River at this free community festival hosted by Friends of the Los Angeles River. Held at Los Angeles State Historic Park, the event features live performances, environmental art installations, interactive eco-friendly activities, local vendors, food trucks, and family-friendly programming inspired by the river’s cultural and ecological significance. Advance registration is required for this unique outdoor celebration.

MAUM Market

What: Discover unique finds at MAUM Market, returning to ROW DTLA with a thoughtfully curated selection of goods from AAPI artists, makers, and small businesses. Westside and Beach Communities Weekend Events | August 7 – August 9 

The Actors’ Gang Shakespeare in the Park

When: Until August 30 

Where: Palms

What: Just when you thought Shakespeare was sounding a little, well, dated, enter the Actors’ Gang. Each summer, the Culver City theater spins a different play from the Bard into a high-energy, family-friendly and free-to-attend production, often wrapped in an irreverent theme (think everything from Toy Story to Power Rangers). This time around, Two Gentlemen of Verona gets a sci-fi twist dubbed Two Gentlebots of Verona. You’ll find the play the first four weekends in August at Culver City’s Media Park, then at the Buena Vista Branch Library in Burbank the last weekend of August.

Art on Ocean — Palisades Park Arts Festival

When: August 8 

Where: Santa Monica

What: Spend the day by the coast at Art on Ocean, a free outdoor festival that transforms Ocean Avenue alongside Palisades Park into a vibrant celebration of local creativity. Browse works from more than 100 artists featuring paintings, photography, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, and other handmade goods while enjoying live music, local food, family activities, and a wine garden. Cap off the evening with a free outdoor screening of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle under the stars.

Sunday Sessions at the Malibu Pier

Where: Malibu

What: Soak up the California coast during this free summer concert series at the Malibu Pier. Hosted in partnership with The Surfrider Malibu and Aviator Nation Dreamland, the event features live performances by local musicians and vinyl DJ sets across four beachside stages from afternoon into the evening. Ventura County Fair

Where: Ventura County Fairgrounds | 10 West Harbor Boulevard, Ventura

Dallas Cowboys Training Camp at River Ridge Fields

What: Football fans can catch the Dallas Cowboys in action during their annual Training Camp in Oxnard, where free public practices return to the River Ridge Playing Fields through August 18.
